Wheres the focus

There are one billion people in the western world, but 5 billion people in the poorer world. how is it then, that we are so blinded as to what is happening in the world? how is it that we in the richer countries focus so much on ourselves and how we can live comfortable loves when we ignore the raging wars on our doorsteps and the violence in other countries, because the rich world is not the real world and it seems that to be living in first world countries that we are living in a dream because its not really real, its not the big picture.

Men see their wives and daughters raped in front of them as children see their mothers raped, mothers see their children hacked to death and villages are burnt to the ground. cities are bombed, hospitals set alight. people are persecuted because of what they believe and because of what race they are. this is the real world. the people who can help cant even see whats happening. they sit in their houses watching a current affairs shows when ironically they know nothing of current affairs. in the west we are informed of only what will sell rather than what is actually ahppening. we are told more about how the government give people speeding fines then about massacres of thousands. where is the justice?

There needs to be a real shift of focus from our world to the real world, because if we were to just realise what is going on then maybe we'd want to help and we have the power to do so. so why dont we? because we have no idea what the big world is really about. while people watch sports ithers are running for their lives. we complain about refugees yet we are doing nothing to help their situation or even understand where they are coming from. imagine we shifted our focus - imagine what could be done.
